Yes, it's true. Our sweet baby girl, Gabriella Faith is one year old (as of May 29, 2009). As I'm writing this, I still can't believe it. This was absolutely the fastest year of my life. Kad and I are so blessed to be able to be her parents. I thank God every day for the amazing blessing that she is. Every morning and every nap, I can't wait to get her up. I miss her every time I'm away from her. Every day brings something new. She is SO smart, she learns so quickly! She is so observant and eager to learn. She is constantly pointing, wanting to know who or what something is (or to touch it). She is 'on the move' now- going everywhere. She's mastered crawling (who would've thought?), pulling up, cruising, and walking w/ our hands. She can stand several seconds on her own, but hasn't taken 'that step' yet. She just got her 8th tooth- she has a mouth full of pretty teeth! She sleeps 11-12 hours a night- she never wakes during the night- thank God!, and still takes 2 naps a day (a total of about 3 hours). She is very opinionated and...well, we'll call it 'passionate.' The girl likes what she likes, and doesn't like what she doesn't...and that's very clear! ;) A born leader. Daring and afraid of nothing. She's also so sweet and loving, and always gives me sweet cuddles (well, atleast before she sleeps or after a doctor's visit!). She wants to feed herself and loves 'real' food. She has never, ever refused/disliked any food. We offer her a huge variety of healthy foods...and thank God, she loves it! She also loves water- out of a sippy, but preferably out of the bottom of a straw (as a special treat when we're out!). She still loves books, music, and dogs- long time favorites. She enjoys 'showing off': fake-coughing (after anyone-strangers included- coughs or sneezes...hahaha!), clapping, clapping w/ her feet, smelling (sniffing) flowers, doing 'wheels on the bus', patting her tummy for the word 'tummy' or 'ice cream' ;), putting her hands on her face for 'oh me,' throwing herself & head backwards for 'whoa, drama,' waving her finger for 'number 1', and waving 'bye bye' (we do this at ALL cars and people). She keeps us on our toes for sure! Though the first day she was born was SO joyful, every day has seemed to get better and better. I'm so looking forward to our next year together.
