Party #1: Friends & CareBears

Gabriella celebrated her first birthday at her first party on Saturday. She was so blessed to be able to spend time with great friends. It was a Care Bear party, complete with her own CareBears for decoration! We had it at Popi's 'Life Skill Center'. We ordered pizza and kept a CareBear video running on the big screen. Noni volunteered to paint faces with cute, colorful CareBear designs. Mommy made CareBear cupcakes with 'belly badges' on top. It was lots of fun!

Goodies!

Noni painted Karter & Peyton's face!

Rosie & Suzette looking at the scrapbooks I made. I did Gabriell'a's 1st year (through Mother's Day), so I only have 2 week of pages to do for them to be complete.

Laney loved G's CareBear socks! It's a good thing there was a pair in her goody bag! ;)

Wow, a party will wear a girl out!

G's 1st Birthday 'Day'

Gabriella had a busy 1st Birthday day-Friday, May 29th. She spent the morning hanging with Mommy, and went to lunch w/ Mommy & Noni to celebrate her big day. She had 2 birthday parties on the following 2 days. Here are some pictures from Friday, her official birth 'day'. =)

Well, she started the day with a 'bang'-literally. She fell pulling up in her crib this morning, giving herself 2 little bruises around her left eye. That's okay, they matched the bruise under her eye, caused by a run-in with a book. What a start!

Climbing ON the basket of books!

Mommy can't believe she's one!

A big girl should definitely have big girl pigtails, don't ya think?

"It's my day!"
Climbing has become a new fun thing to do...yikes!

Out to lunch for her birthday- Jim N Nick's BBQ- yummy! She was Ms. Friendly, as she waved and played with the 3 nearby tables.

Thanks for my birthday lunch, Noni!

I can't get over how old she looks!

One Year Old!!!

Yes, it's true. Our sweet baby girl, Gabriella Faith is one year old (as of May 29, 2009). As I'm writing this, I still can't believe it. This was absolutely the fastest year of my life. Kad and I are so blessed to be able to be her parents. I thank God every day for the amazing blessing that she is. Every morning and every nap, I can't wait to get her up. I miss her every time I'm away from her. Every day brings something new. She is SO smart, she learns so quickly! She is so observant and eager to learn. She is constantly pointing, wanting to know who or what something is (or to touch it). She is 'on the move' now- going everywhere. She's mastered crawling (who would've thought?), pulling up, cruising, and walking w/ our hands. She can stand several seconds on her own, but hasn't taken 'that step' yet. She just got her 8th tooth- she has a mouth full of pretty teeth! She sleeps 11-12 hours a night- she never wakes during the night- thank God!, and still takes 2 naps a day (a total of about 3 hours). She is very opinionated and...well, we'll call it 'passionate.' The girl likes what she likes, and doesn't like what she doesn't...and that's very clear! ;) A born leader. Daring and afraid of nothing. She's also so sweet and loving, and always gives me sweet cuddles (well, atleast before she sleeps or after a doctor's visit!). She wants to feed herself and loves 'real' food. She has never, ever refused/disliked any food. We offer her a huge variety of healthy foods...and thank God, she loves it! She also loves water- out of a sippy, but preferably out of the bottom of a straw (as a special treat when we're out!). She still loves books, music, and dogs- long time favorites. She enjoys 'showing off': fake-coughing (after anyone-strangers included- coughs or sneezes...hahaha!), clapping, clapping w/ her feet, smelling (sniffing) flowers, doing 'wheels on the bus', patting her tummy for the word 'tummy' or 'ice cream' ;), putting her hands on her face for 'oh me,' throwing herself & head backwards for 'whoa, drama,' waving her finger for 'number 1', and waving 'bye bye' (we do this at ALL cars and people). She keeps us on our toes for sure! Though the first day she was born was SO joyful, every day has seemed to get better and better. I'm so looking forward to our next year together.

Here's looking back:

* Birth: Weight- 6 lb 13 oz Height- 18 1/2 in

* 1 Year: Weight- 18 lb 14 oz (25 %) Height- 27 3/4 in (10 %)

*** I'll post Birthday Party pictures soon! =)

Striped Summer Shades

Gabriella got some new striped sunglasses for the summer. She's not a big fan, so this was our attempt at getting her used to them. It didn't really work, but she thinks it's fun to take them on and off anyway!

Okay, let me try!

Oh, yeah!

Okay, time to get them off!

Seriously.

Memorial Day

We celebrated two events in one evening: Memorial Day and Uncle Nic's 29th Birthday! We took time to appreciate our freedom and all those who have fought for our country. We also took time to celebrate another happy, healthy, successful year for Uncle Nic. Another fun time together!

Red, white, and blue!

Noni & Popi's girl

My beautiful baby girl with her DaddyG had fun talking to her cousin, Laney! Uh oh, Laney's catching up to you, Little G!

They love each other and are so much fun to watch!

Happy Bday, Uncle Nic!

We took our little LadyBug to cousin Kevin's HS graduation party (Way to go, Cuz!). It was fun seeing family there.

Purple Piggies

Summertime just screams pigtails, doesn't it? =) Here are a few pics of some purple piggies.

This is me "smelling" the flowers.

She loves putting the rings back on now.

So much to play!
